CR 10 (Huntersland Road) over Little Schoharie Creek

Albany County, New York

MJ designed a new bridge for this important Albany County thoroughfare.

MJ’s design addressed several concerns regarding the original bridge which had experienced significant damage due to aggressive water flow during storm events and large thaws. The project was further complicated by a steep incline and a severe curve in the roadway.

MJ designed a bridge that has a larger hydraulic opening, reducing velocity and the potential for overtopping. MJ also designed a solution that improved the curve of the roadway and avoided property acquisitions.

In addition to bridge design, the MJ team performed in-depth bridge inspection, topographic survey and mapping, hydraulic analysis, environmental permitting, and construction inspection service.
