MJ’s Newest Professional Engineers

A HUGE congratulations to Bobby Sousa, PE and Tom Snyder, PE for earning their Professional Engineering (PE) license in New York State! The PE is an immense accomplishment – the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality.

Bobby Sousa, PE

Bobby joined MJ in 2016 and has experience in both engineering and construction inspection. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with a construction engineering management concentration, from Clarkson University in 2013. Throughout this past year, Bobby has been responsible for overseeing full-time construction inspection services on the replacement of the C-11 Bridge in Dutchess County.

“I’m happy to announce that Bobby Sousa has recently earned his professional engineering license. Bobby is the first engineer [here at MJ] to receive his PE specifically in the civil construction discipline. Bobby has been a vital cog in the CI/CM machine for the past five years. Great job Bobby, congratulations!” – Kurt Nichols, Senior Associate/Director of Construction Services

Tom Snyder, PE

Tom brings nearly two decades of experience within the fields of engineering and survey. He received his associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College and bachelor’s degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica. He has been with the firm for two years and works within MJ’s structural group. Recently, Tom has worked on building additions and upgrades at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining and the NYS Department of Transportation garage in Wells.

“It is with great pleasure to announce that Tom Snyder is a newly minted professional engineer. Tom has been a huge asset to the building structural group since he joined MJ over two years ago. His structural engineering knowledge and attention to detail makes him a key member of our group. Please join me in congratulating Tom on his career milestone!” – Chris Dooley, PE, Principal/Director of Building Systems
