MJ is pleased to announce the appointment of our newest associates – Matt Drislane, Andy Casale, Mike DeBrino, Walt Lippmann, Carly Carman, Pete Holland, and Mike Pianka (pictured left to right).
From mentoring and managing staff, leading project teams, growing the firm, and promoting a positive company culture, each member of this seasoned group of professionals plays an instrumental role in the growth and development of MJ. We are excited to elevate this class of leaders that will continue to shape the success of MJ in the future.
Matthew Drislane, PE, Associate, Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer. Matt has more than 15 years of experience engineering wastewater infrastructure projects across New York State. “Matt’s work ethic and dedication are visible in his projects, and he strives to provide a high level of service to make them successful.” said Carrie Dooley, PE, senior associate and director of water and wastewater engineering at MJ. “From the time Matt first joined MJ in 2013, he has been instrumental in growing this important service offering for MJ.”
Andrew Casale, Associate, Resident Engineer. Andy has been with MJ for more than 20 years, providing inspection and oversight of some of the most challenging construction projects in the region. “Andy has tremendous construction knowledge,” said Kurt Nichols, senior associate and director of construction services at MJ. “He is a mentor to MJ’s up-and-coming construction inspectors and a leader in the field.”
Michael DeBrino, Associate, Director of Business Development. Since joining MJ in 2013, Mike has been instrumental in growing MJ’s public sector market, particularly within the land surveying division of MJ. He has been integral in MJ’s expansion into the Hudson Valley and strengthening our foothold in the New York City market. “I am pleased to be able to recognize Mike’s unwavering dedication to MJ and our business goals,” said MJ’s president Michael Panichelli.
Walter Lippmann, PE, Associate, Director of Land Development. Walt has been with MJ since 2018. With more than 25 years of engineering experience, he leads MJ’s Land Development Division. “Walt’s wide variety of engineering experience gives him the ability to tackle any challenge head-on,” said Joel Bianchi, vice president of civil engineering. “Over the last several years, Walt has exceled in growing MJ’s private-sector design work.”
Carly Carman, Associate, Marketing Manager. Carly joined MJ in 2010 and is responsible for leading many of the firm’s strategic marketing initiatives. She is a long-time board member of the Upstate New York Chapter of the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). Carly recently received her FAA-Certified Drone Pilot’s license. “Carly is extremely hard-working and dedicated. She has played a vital role in landing some of MJ’s largest contracts,” said Becky Cahill, senior associate and director of marketing. “Her commitment to fostering a positive company culture makes MJ a better place for everyone who works here.”
Peter Holland, PE, Associate, Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer. Pete has been with MJ since 2018 and leads the majority of MJ’s water infrastructure projects. Prior to joining MJ, he ran his own engineering business. “Pete is a highly skilled project manager and is excellent at building strong working relationships,” said Carrie Dooley, PE, senior associate and director of water and wastewater engineering. “His experience as a sole proprietor gives him a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in this industry from both the engineering side and the business side.”
Michael Pianka, GISP, Associate, Director of Software Development. Mike has been with MJ for more than 10 years where he has been instrumental in growing MJ’s geospatial information systems (GIS) services. Recently, Mike led the development of MJ’s first in-house house web application, MJ4D. Mike and his team created MJ4D to fulfill the need for a web-based digital twin viewer tailored to the architecture, engineering and construction industries. “Mike has a futuristic approach to solving current problems,” said Michael Koterba, senior associate and MJ’s chief technology officer. “His contribution to MJ through innovation is immeasurable.”
