POSITION SUMMARY:
MJ is actively seeking a lead transportation engineer to join our team to assist with current and exciting future projects. This job offering provides an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow and advance in MJ’s transportation and engineering practices. We are seeking a motivated candidate with a strong interest in transportation design that is well organized, resourceful, and creative.
Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and have strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills. As lead engineer, you will progress design concepts through design development and work with the team to produce construction documents for a wide range of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work and coordinate with multiple design discipline team members to support transportation project designs from initial project programming through construction to meet project schedules.
Assist with client solicitations including preparation of project proposals and attendance at proposal interviews.
Provide a lead support role including but not limited to the preparation and implementation of transportation design elements, technical reports, public presentations, public meetings, client meetings, design reports, permits, project approvals, bid documents, cost estimating and management of engineering and CADD staff.
Management of subconsultants and subcontracts.
Participate in construction administration and support tasks, including shop drawing reviews, reviewing and responding to requests for information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
7-10+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering and consulting with a focus in transportation design.
BS in Civil Engineering or qualified technical or engineering degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited college.
Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Basic understanding of state and municipal-driven engineering contracts, design standards and specifications.
Knowledgeable in the use of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
