POSITION SUMMARY: 


MJ is actively seeking a entry level bridge designer to join our team to assist with current and exciting future projects. This job offering provides an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow and advance in MJ’s  bridge and engineering practices. We are seeking a motivated candidate with a strong  interest in bridge design that is well organized, resourceful, and creative. 


Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team  and have strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills. As bridge design engineer, you will progress  design concepts through design development and work with the project team to produce construction  documents for a wide range of regional projects.

NYS Fair Entrance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Designing of steel and concrete bridges

  • Development of construction plans and documents

  • Developing Engineer’s Estimates

  • Load Analysis of ordinary and complex bridge elements

  • Experience in bridge inspection

  • Knowledge of NYSDOT and NYS Thruway Authority Standards



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET- accredited college with 0 to 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering

  • Registration as an Intern Engineer (I.E.) in NY is preferred

  • Knowledge of the use of Bentley Microstation and Microsoft Office

  • Preferred experience in STAAD, MERLIN DASH and MathCAD

  • Ability to work within multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules

  • Willing to work overtime

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship
