POSITION SUMMARY:


MJ is seeking a full-time project engineer with a minimum of 5-7 years of construction related experience. This position provides leadership and comprehensive construction management and engineering support for on-site construction projects for the Army Corps of Engineers in Watervliet, New York.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversight of inspectors and coordination and accountability of all projects, administrative and in-field responsibilities.

  • Notify government of discrepancies found during inspections and ensure compliance.

  • Interpret plans and specifications for the government and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.

  • Prepare and track construction schedules and requests updates as schedule changes.

  • Implement change orders to project when required.

  • Review design drawings for constructability.

  • Review / prepare inspection reports, indicating discrepancies and evidence of noncompliance and determining states of construction progress.

  • Provide feedback and updates of pertinent day-to-day site conditions, deficiencies and site discussions with field representatives.

  • Implement change orders to project when required.

  • Coordinate and perform daily field site visits to verify that work is proceeding with contract documents and approved submittals.

  • Provide and review submittals, RFI logs, maintenance logs, and other project related materials in a timely manner.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid driver’s license

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction from an ABET- accredited college or relevant number of years’ experience.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
