MJ was responsible for the site / civil design related to construction of an 8,000 sf. addition to the existing 80,000 sf. DEC Warrensburg sub office building. Specific design elements included installation of a new water main and five hydrants to service the new and existing building, installation of new underground electric services and removal and disposal of the existing system, design layout of a new sanitary sewer system to tie into the existing system, parking reconstruction design, including the addition of alternative fuel vehicle re-charge accommodations, design of ADA compliant sidewalk amenities, design of site related stormwater pollution prevention plans and site drainage design and bicycle storage facilities.
The building was designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. DEC is now in the process of applying for the "Green Building" certification.
