MJ was responsible for providing 3D laser scanning services for the newly-constructed clean room ceilings at the GlobalFoundries $4.6 billion computer chip factory in Malta, New York. MJ will use laser scanning to develop as-builts of the 300,000-square-foot clean room ceiling. Using laser scanning technology, MJ is able to capture 5,000 square feet in a single scan.

HDS - NY Aquarium.pdf
MJ was responsible for performing 3D laser scanning of the existing features to the tensile fabric roof structure covering the New York aquarium. The purpose of this project was to identify key points and dimensions that are critical to the re-design of the new covering for the facility. Due to the canopy’s intricate shape and design, close attention was dedicated to the measurements of the steel arches, steel plates for connection, steel frames above the windows, fabric, catenary cables and openings throughout fabric

MJ was responsible for providing a topographic, utility and boundary survey of the building grounds and surrounding streets. In addition to the traditional survey, laser scanning was employed to collect the detail needed on the buildings exterior, such as window openings, building height and distances to neighboring buildings. The project also required a survey of the existing conditions of all eight floors. The interior demising walls, stairwells and fixed features were verified and mapped to create an existing floor plan.
