Leica ScanStation 2

Leica ScanStation 2 Scanner Jacket

The majority of MJ's scanning projects are located in the Northeast and occur throughout the year, even in the winter months. The Leica ScanStation 2 is a powerful tool, but it typically cannot be used in temperatures below 32° F. This presented a significant problem for MJ.

To solve this problem, MJ's scanning group developed a functioning scanner jacket prototype. The jacket is designed to re-circulate the scanner's exhaust ventilation. This system provides an operating environment for use in cold weather, without an external heat source, and has been tested in temperatures as low as 10° F.
