MJ provided construction inspection services to the New York State Thruway Authority for this two-season bridge replacement project.
The maintenance and protection of traffic scheme incorporated a two-lane, on-site median detour, utilizing a temporary structure on a curved horizontal alignment. Major median grading and drainage modifications were required to facilitate the detour alignment. In addition to both bridge replacements, the Thruway mainline pavement was super-elevated within the project limits. The Westbound mainline profile under the County Road 13 Bridge was lowered to increase the vertical clearance. MJ was responsible for the redesign and subsequent inspection of the 2,300 foot section of mainline pavement reconstruction. |
